Bidding here is deliberately plain: you register, we verify you by telephone, you accept the terms of the lot you want, and you bid against a clock that does not move. This page sets out each of those, and what happens after you win.
Register with an email address you can open. We send a confirmation link, and the account cannot bid until you have followed it.
Give us a number you answer, Rwandan or international. It is not published anywhere on the site; it is how we reach you about a lot you have won.
A member of our staff telephones you on that number and approves the account by hand. This is not automatic and it is not instant, so register before the lot you want closes rather than on the day.
Every lot carries its own written terms — inspection, payment deadline, deposit, collection. You record your acceptance of them once per lot, before your first bid on it.
The first bid on a lot is the starting price. Every bid after it must clear the current price by at least the lot's increment, both of which are shown on the lot page.
At the published closing time the highest valid bid wins. We contact the winner, and payment and collection are arranged directly with our staff.
Three things have to be true, and the database checks all three every time you bid rather than trusting the page you are on.
Bids are direct: you enter an amount and it is either accepted or refused immediately. We do not bid on your behalf and there is nothing to set and leave running, so a lot closing while you are asleep will close without you.
The first bid on a lot is its starting price. After that, each bid must be at least the current price plus that lot's increment. Both figures are on the lot page, and the amount you must beat is worked out for you.
You may raise your own bid while you are already the highest bidder. Our own staff may never bid on lots we administer.
Each lot ends at its published closing time, shown in Kigali time (CAT, UTC+2). That time is fixed: a bid in the last seconds does not extend it, and a bid that arrives after it is refused.
The highest valid bid at that moment wins. There is no reserve and no minimum we quietly hold out for, so a lot can sell for its starting price. Nothing is negotiated afterwards.
Online Auctions24 does not take payment on this website. There is no card form and nothing to settle here. Money moves directly to us by bank transfer or mobile money, and our staff will tell you where.
Your winning bid is not necessarily the total you will pay. Taxes, a buyer's premium and administration charges may apply, and where they do they are set out in that lot's terms and in our published Terms of Service. Read them before you bid, not after.
We record the amount owed and its deadline, any deposit, and the receipt against which we verified your payment. Collection is authorised once payment has been verified, and a proof of payment you submit cannot afterwards be replaced or removed.
Lots are sold as they are. Inspect anything you intend to bid on: where a lot can be viewed and when is published on its own page, and asking is free.
If something has gone wrong with a purchase, write to us or telephone — the channels are on our contact page and answered in Kigali working hours. What we can and cannot do afterwards is set out in the Terms of Service and the Public Auction Regulation Code, both published on this site.
Approval is a telephone call from a person, so it happens in working hours and not in the minutes before a lot closes. If you think you will want to bid this month, register now and be ready.
